NOW HIRING: Farm Worker Position
Full- Time, Pay $15 – $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications with paid sick leave and vacation.
This position is for a hard-working, physically capable individual to work on a diversified farming operation. It requires a positive, outgoing personality with schedule flexibility and a readiness to learn new skills. While grounds keeping, field work and handy-man tasks are the primary focus, this position also includes interacting with farm guests. This job will allow you to grow with the farm and the opportunity to advance into management with experience and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general handy-man maintenance and light mechanical repair and building work on the farm.
Assist with mowing, landscaping and weed eating for Christmas tree crops and lawn care.
Assist with planting, cultivating, harvesting, shearing, pruning and preparing for market various field crops.
Assist with basic animal husbandry related care to the farm’s animal barnyard during open season.
Clean, sanitize and maintain order to farm grounds and restroom facilities during open season. Manage basic inventory of supplies.
Operate tractor for wagon rides, tractor train and various other tasks around the farm. Checking tractor(s) for safety and ensuring machinery is functioning properly.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities are split depending on the time of year. When the farm is open to guests (August – December) more time is spent on grounds keeping and maintenance. When the farm is closed (January – July), more time is spent on building and development of new projects, mowing, weed-eating, shearing and post season clean up. General maintenance, livestock and cultivation tasks are year-round.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work independently on daily tasks as well as cooperate with a team.
Previous general handyman, painting, and mechanical repair skills preferred but not required. Must be able to work off ladders, scaffolding and lifts.
Ability to perform housekeeping, grounds keeping and sanitation tasks around the farm, restrooms, workshops, etc. and the ability to assist with directing parking at times.
Previous tractor driving or heavy equipment experience is a plus.
Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time and can bend, stoop, extend oneself and carry a minimum of 50lbs., etc., that is required to perform assigned tasks.
Ability to work outdoors year-round in a variety of weather conditions such as heat, rain, and snow conditions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Requires a valid driver’s license.
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays outside normal hours during peak seasons. We believe in a work/life balance and keep this to a minimum as much as possible.

Fall Seasonal Positions

You must be at least 14 years old and be available at least 16 hours per week with Friday, Saturday and Sunday being our busiest days with the most hours available. Job Descriptions
Retail Sales and Cashiers: Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and efficient way. Cash register training will be provided; however this position requires your ability to make change. Attention to cleanliness, restocking, running a cash register and selling merchandise is required for this job. This position requires individuals to work in a semi-outdoor environment and some light to medium lifting is required.
Food Service: Our food service requires a range of abilities from cooking to cashiering to filling drink orders. We are looking for team players that are customer service oriented and can work at a fast pace.
Grounds Crew: We are looking for hard working individuals that can work independently to keep our farm clean and safe for all guests. Car loading, order filling, picnic table cleaning, trash removal, supply replenishment, and sweeping are all part of this job. This position requires the individual to work outside in all weather conditions and requires light to heavy lifting.
Fun Crew: We are looking for energetic persons to keep activities running smoothly and facilitate fun and safety in the Fall Fun Festival. This position includes working at the Wristband Checkpoint, jumping pillow, slides, pedal karts, animal care or any other activity.
Hayrides/ Cow Train Driver: You must be 18 years old or older for this position with extensive experience operating tractors and farm equipment. Safety is the top priority and much discretion will be used in filling these positions.
