Gaver Farm offers educational field trips to accredited public and private schools, preschools, year-round daycares and head start programs.
Field Trips provide an opportunity for children to learn about and experience agriculture on a real working farm and meet our family farm members! Guests learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin, our friend the bee, farm animals and agriculture products!
Field trips include a hayride to the pumpkin patch or apple orchard to pick your own pumpkin or fill your own apple bag, self-guided educational opportunities and Fall Fun Fest Admission. The cost of a pumpkin Field Trip is $9 per person for children and adults and 1 FREE teacher per class (classroom size = 20 students). Apple Field Trip cost is $15 per person for children and adults, each receiving a 1/4 Peck Pick Your Own Apple bag to fill. We do not accept payment vouchers.

Apple Orchard Field Trip Day: September 11-12, 2025. The cost is $15 per person and includes a 1/4 peck PYO Apple Bag, FREE scenic hayride and Fall Fun Fest admission. All guests age 2 and older must have their own Gaver Farm PYO bag to be admitted into the Orchard. No reservations are necessary. Let the cashier know at check-in you are checking in for Orchard Day. Tickets are only available at the farm. No free teachers or parents. Check-in opens at 9:30 am. Hayrides run continuously from 10 am – 12 noon to the Orchard. You must check-in prior to 12:00 noon. The last hayride will depart at 12 noon- don’t miss it!
Teacher Appreciation Weekend: September 13-14, 2025. Teachers with a valid ID receive FREE Fall Fun Fest admission and 1 FREE Fall Fun Fest guest admission! Join us to celebrate and thank our wonderful teachers. Tickets are only available at the gate on the day of the event with valid ID.
Homeschool Field Trip Days: September 24-25, 2025 Parents and their home-schooled children may take advantage of the school group rates without meeting minimum requirements AND learn about farming, growing, bees, animals and so much more with self-guided learning opportunities! No reservations are necessary. Let the cashier know at check-in you are checking in for Homeschool Day. Tickets are only available at the farm. No free teachers or parents. Check-in opens at 9:30 am. Hayrides run continuously from 10 am – 12 noon to pick your own pumpkins (under 5 pounds, included). You must check-in prior to 12:00 noon to receive the $9 rate, hayride and pumpkin. The last hayride will depart at 12 noon- don’t miss it!
Make a reservation by filling out the form below! The following dates are BLACKOUT dates (no school in Frederick County or a surrounding county) and are not available for a Field Trip Reservation :September 1, 23; October 2, 13, 17 and 28, 2025.
Important Note:
Please include total number of kids, adults, aids and teachers. You must have a minimum of 20 people age 2 and older to qualify for the school field trip rate and hayride. “I don’t have 20 people! What should I do?!”
You are welcome to pack a picnic lunch or select from Gaver Farm’s food concessions. The Donut Hut is open daily from 10 am – 6 pm and the Barn Grill is open from 11 am – 2 pm on October weekdays. Visit Fall Concessions for full menus.
